Preparation and Storage
Preparation and Usage
Future Cuisine mussels are best cooked from frozen at high heat for a short time to produce optimum result. Do not overcook.
Should your preparation include thawing we recommend the following.
• Thawing Instructions
Conventional thawing can be achieved by placing the NZ Greenshell Mussels or sealed bag in the refrigerator for 8-10 hours. Drain off excess liquid prior to using.
• Quick Thawing can be achieved by running cold water over sealed bag of NZ Greenshell Mussels for 10 minutes, moving them around to ensure all are properly defrosted.
Once thawed, do not refreeze or leave sitting in their own juices or water.
**if defrosted then reduce the recommended cooking time to avoid over cooking*
Must be kept frozen to maintain safety. Do not freeze.
Store at -18°C or cooler
This product is heat treated but not cook, it should be cooked prior to consumption. Persons who are pregnant or immune compromised should either avoid this product cook properly before consumption. This production contains shellfish and is not suitable for persons who suffer from allergens.
